How do I create a hunting ground?

Last updated
A hunting ground gathers everything about your hunting area: members, maps, hunts and finances. Whoever creates it becomes its administrator. Any signed-in user can create a hunting ground. ## On mobile 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, tap **New** at the top right. The "New hunting ground" sheet opens on the **Create** tab. 2. Fill in the **Hunting ground name** and the **Address / Town**. Both fields are required, and the address completes itself as you type. 3. Check the **Hunting ground country**: it is suggested from the address and you can change it. It decides which rules apply to the participants' hunting licences. 4. If you wish, tap **Add a photo**, then fill in the **Area (ha)**, the **Hunting ground type** and the **Description / Notes**. 5. Tap **Create the hunting ground**. The hunting ground opens straight away. ## On the web 1. Click **Hunting grounds** in the menu, then **Create a hunting ground** at the top of the page. If you have no hunting ground yet, click the **Create your first hunting ground** tile. 2. In the "New hunting ground" window, fill in the name of the hunting ground and the address or place name. Both fields are required, and the address completes itself as you type. 3. Check the **Country of the hunting ground**: it is suggested from the address and you can change it. It decides which rules apply to the participants' hunting licences. 4. If you wish, add a **Cover photo**, the area in hectares, the hunting ground type and your rules or notes. 5. Click **Create the hunting ground**. The hunting ground appears in your list. ## Good to know - The hunting ground type is picked from a list: ACCA (municipal hunting association), AICA (inter-municipal hunting association), Municipal hunting society, Private hunting ground, Commercial hunting ground, Hunting in Alsace-Moselle, Hound hunt (venery), GIC (game management group), Specialist association or Other. - Until you have invited anyone, you are the only one who sees the hunting ground. - On the hunting ground page, the "Set up my hunting ground" card guides you through what comes next: drawing the map, placing the stands, adding the members, organising the first hunt. The harvest plan and the safety instructions are recommended there. - You can create several hunting grounds. Each one has only one administrator. - The name, address, country, hunting ground type and photo can be changed afterwards in the hunting ground settings. - On mobile, the area is entered when you create the hunting ground. After that, it is no longer entered by hand: it is calculated from the outline you draw in the **Boundary** section of the hunting ground. The notes are changed in the **Regulations** section, "Notes & rules" block. - On the web, the area is changed in the hunting ground settings, and your rules or notes in the **Safety** tab, **Notes & rules** field. ## Troubleshooting - "The name and address are required." (on mobile): one of the two fields is empty. Fill them in, then tap **Create the hunting ground** again. - "I cannot create the hunting ground after entering an area" (on the web): the area must be 0 or more. Enter a positive number or leave the field empty, then click **Create the hunting ground** again. - "The suggested country is wrong": pick the right country in the **Hunting ground country** list before you create the hunting ground. Your choice wins over the suggestion. - "The photo does not appear after creation" (on mobile): the hunting ground was created, only the photo upload failed. Add it from the hunting ground settings. ## See also - [How do I set up a hunting ground?](article:how-do-i-set-up-a-hunting-ground) - [How do I invite members?](article:how-do-i-invite-members) - [How do I create a map?](article:how-do-i-create-a-map) - [Getting started: from creating your account to your first hunt](article:getting-started-from-account-creation-to-your-first-hunt)
