How do I get hunting season dates by email?

Mes Chasses emails you the opening and closing dates of the hunting season in your department, for the species you follow. The service is free and doesn't require an account. ## On the web ### Subscribing 1. Open the hunting dates page at [meschasses.com/dates-chasse](https://meschasses.com/dates-chasse/). 2. In the "Alertes gratuites" (free alerts) form, enter **Votre email** (your email). 3. Choose your **Département** (department), then the species you want to follow. If you don't choose any species, all of them are followed. 4. Click **Recevoir les alertes** (receive alerts). 5. Open the confirmation email and follow its link, then click **Confirmer mes alertes** (confirm my alerts) on the page that opens. Your alerts are only active after this confirmation. Without confirmation within 7 days, your request is deleted and you have to start again. When signing up, you can also ask to receive news from Mes Chasses. ### Following several departments A subscription covers a single department. If you hunt in several departments, sign up again for each one from the hunting dates page, with the same email address. On a department's own page, the form doesn't offer a choice of species: all of them are followed. ### Changing species Once your subscription is confirmed, subscribing again to the same department doesn't change your species: the existing subscription is kept as it is. To change your selection: 1. In one of your emails, click **Se désabonner** (unsubscribe), then **Me désabonner** (unsubscribe me). 2. Open the hunting dates page at [meschasses.com/dates-chasse](https://meschasses.com/dates-chasse/). 3. In the "Alertes gratuites" form, enter **Votre email**. 4. Choose your **Département** and the species you want, then click **Recevoir les alertes**. 5. Open the confirmation email and follow its link, then click **Confirmer mes alertes** on the page that opens. As long as the subscription isn't confirmed, a new sign-up replaces the chosen species and sends a new confirmation email. If a confirmation email was already sent less than an hour ago for this department, or if the sending limits per address or overall have been reached, nothing changes. ### Unsubscribing Each email has the **Se désabonner** link at the bottom. 1. Click **Se désabonner**. The "Arrêter les alertes dates de chasse" (stop the hunting dates alerts) page opens. 2. Click **Me désabonner**. The message "Vous ne recevrez plus ces alertes." (you will no longer receive these alerts) appears: your subscription to this department is deleted and the emails stop. Without this second click, nothing is deleted. If you had asked for Mes Chasses news when signing up, your address is also removed from their mailing list. It stays if you are still subscribed to another department with the same address and you asked for the news there too. ## What you receive - A summary on Mondays, only when an opening or closing date falls within the next 7 days, for the species you chose. With no date that week, you receive nothing. - An email when a general prefectural order is signed for your department, with the new dates. It goes out no earlier than 24 hours after Mes Chasses records the order, and only once per season and per department. Never more than one summary per week and per department, even if you follow many species. ## Good to know The dates come from prefectural orders. Always check the order in force and your hunting ground's instructions before you go out. These alerts are separate from the app: they don't depend on your notification settings and don't require a Mes Chasses account. ## Troubleshooting - "I didn't receive the confirmation email": look in your junk mail. A new request for the same department only sends an email once an hour, at most five times a day for the same address, and at most 20 times an hour across all addresses. In these cases, the form shows "Un email de confirmation vous a déjà été envoyé il y a moins d'une heure. Pensez à regarder vos spams." (a confirmation email was already sent to you less than an hour ago, check your spam). - "Trop de demandes depuis votre connexion. Réessayez dans une heure." (too many requests from your connection, try again in an hour): the form received too many requests from your connection. Wait an hour, then try again. - "I don't receive any summary": no opening or closing date falls this week for the species you follow, or your subscription was never confirmed. Sign up again to receive a new confirmation email. - "I receive dates for a department I'm no longer interested in": use the unsubscribe link in one of its emails.
