How do I validate or reject a tag?

A tag attached to a harvest during the hunt stays "awaiting validation" until a harvest plan manager confirms it. Once validated, it remains assigned to the harvest until a harvest plan manager removes it. Once rejected, it becomes available again. Only harvest plan managers can validate or reject tags: the administrator, the hunting ground managers and the members who have the **Manage harvest plans** permission. This right is separate from the right to edit or run a hunt: an organiser can run the hunt without being able to validate its tags. ## On mobile ### From the hunting ground (all hunts) 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, tap the hunting ground. 2. "Hunting ground" section, tap **Harvest plan & tags**. 3. The "N tags to validate" block gathers the waiting tags, hunt by hunt. 4. To validate everything for a hunt, tap **Validate** on its line. 5. To decide tag by tag, tap the hunt's arrow to unfold it, then the tick (validate) or the cross (reject) of the tag. On mobile, a rejection doesn't ask for a reason. ### From a hunt 1. Open the hunt, tap **Manage**. 2. "Map & hunting ground" section, tap **Harvest plan & tags**. 3. In the "N tags to validate" banner, tap **Validate all**. 4. Confirm with **Validate** in the "Validate the tags?" window. This banner doesn't offer rejection. To reject a tag, go through the hunting ground. ### Close a finished season This is for harvest plan managers, for a past season. 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, tap the hunting ground, then **Harvest plan & tags**. 2. At the top, tap the pill of the past season you want to close. 3. In the "Season … finished" banner, tap **Return to the federation** or **Destroy**. 4. Confirm in the "Return the tags?" or "Destroy the tags?" window. The season's unused tags are marked returned to the federation or destroyed. This action is permanent. Closing is impossible for as long as tags are still waiting to be validated in the season. They are listed under the banner, hunt by hunt: 1. To validate everything for a hunt, tap **Validate** on its line. 2. To decide tag by tag, tap the hunt's arrow to unfold it. 3. Tap the tick (validate) or the cross (reject) of the tag. ## On the web ### From a hunt 1. Open the hunt, then the **Harvest plan** page in its menu. 2. The "N tags to validate" card lists the waiting tags. 3. To validate everything, click **Validate all** in that card. 4. For a single tag, click the tick to the right of its line. 5. To reject a tag, click the cross to the right of its line. In the "Reject this tag?" window, type a **Reason** if you want to, then click **Reject**. ### Close a finished season This is for harvest plan managers, for a past season. 1. Click **Hunting grounds**, open the hunting ground, then **Harvest plan & tags**. 2. In the header, click the season shown and choose the past season you want to close. 3. In the "Close season …" block, click **Return the tags** or **Destroy the tags**. 4. Confirm with **Return** or **Destroy** in the window that opens. The season's unused tags are marked returned to the federation or destroyed. This action is permanent. For as long as tags are still waiting to be validated in the season, both buttons stay greyed out. The waiting tags are listed under the buttons, hunt by hunt: 1. To validate everything for a hunt, click **Validate all** on its line. 2. For a single tag, click the tick to the right of its line. 3. To reject a tag, click the cross to the right of its line. In the "Reject this tag?" window, type a **Reason** if you want to, then click **Reject**. ## Good to know - A tag is attached during the live hunt, or afterwards from the harvest record. - A tag counts towards the harvest plan as soon as it is attached, even before it is validated. - Once the tag is validated, the linked harvest can no longer be deleted, nor change species, category or status (it can no longer stop being harvested). The other fields can still be changed. To change those fields or delete the harvest, a harvest plan manager first has to remove the tag. ## Troubleshooting - "I can't see the Validate button": you don't have the **Manage harvest plans** permission. You see the waiting tags but can't settle them. - "Unable to load the tags awaiting validation." (mobile, and the closing block of the hunting ground's **Harvest plan & tags** page on the web) or "Couldn't load the tags." (the **Harvest plan** page of a hunt, on the web): tap or click **Try again**. - "You can't close the season … Validate or reject them before closing.": some tags are still waiting. They are listed under the closing buttons. - "A validated tag is attached to this harvest. The change was refused." (on mobile): the harvest is locked by its validated tag.
