How do I pay as a guest without an account?

Last updated
A guest settles their participation, their meal or a donation without creating an account, from a link sent by the organiser. Depending on the fee, payment is made by card or in cash on site. You need the hunt's payment link (its address contains /pay/). On the web, after accepting an invitation, the page goes straight on to the payments due. ## On mobile The app has no payment screen for guests: the payment link opens in your phone's browser, not in the app. ### Pay 1. Tap the link you received. The page opens in the browser and shows the hunting ground ("Immediate hunt" by default), the hunt type, the date and the time, then "Select your payments". 2. Tap the fees to settle. A fee marked "Required" is ticked automatically and can't be unticked. 3. If the fee asks for a free or suggested amount, enter it. The minimum and maximum, if any, are shown next to the field. 4. To pay by card, tap the bottom button: it shows the total, for example "Pay · €25.00", or **Make a donation** if you are only settling a donation. You are redirected to Stripe, then brought back to the "Payment confirmed!" page in the browser. 5. To pay in cash, tap **I'll pay in cash** under the fee concerned. This button only appears if the fee accepts cash. ### Create an account after paying The "Payment confirmed!" page offers it, with no obligation. 1. Check your email address: it is already filled in and can't be changed here. 2. Choose a password of at least 8 characters. 3. Tap **Create my account**. The page shows "Account created ✓" and invites you to check your inbox to confirm your address. 4. Tap **Close** to leave the page. To leave without an account, tap **No thanks, close**: the page takes you to the Mes Chasses website. ## On the web ### Pay 1. Open the link. The organiser collects it on the day of the hunt. - A card payment that was started but not finished: the fee shows "Payment in progress…" for about 30 minutes, until the payment session expires. Come back to the page to see the result. When you settle a meal, your place at the meal is confirmed, whether you pay by card or in cash. The organiser sees the state of each fee on their side. No account is needed. ## Good to know - The organiser, or the person who invited you, can send you the meal payment link by email, with the **Send the meal link** button. This link is that of your payment page, with all your fees. - A payment link is valid for 30 days. ## If something goes wrong - "Link expired": the payment link has passed its 30-day validity. Ask the organiser for a new one. - "Invalid link": the address is wrong. Check it, or ask the organiser for the right link. - "Event ended": the hunt is past, payments are no longer accepted. - "Hunt cancelled": "This hunt has been cancelled: payment is no longer possible." The page shows this message instead of the buttons when you click the card payment button or **I'll pay in cash**, and no payment is recorded. Contact the organiser. - "This event has been deleted.": the organiser deleted the hunt between sending the link and your payment. This error message shows when you tap or click the card payment button, or **I'll pay in cash**. No payment is recorded. Contact the organiser. - "Payment already made": all your payments for this hunt have already been recorded. - "I don't see the button to pay in cash": this fee only accepts card. The organiser chooses the accepted payment methods, fee by fee. - "My amount is refused": the fee has a minimum or a maximum. A reminder shows next to the field, for example "min €10.00 · max €50.00". When the amount entered is out of bounds, the red message "Minimum amount: €10.00" or "Maximum amount: €50.00" appears under the field. If you pay anyway, the refusal shows: "The amount is below the minimum allowed.", "The amount exceeds the maximum allowed." or "The amount is required.". A payment can't be below €0.50. - "This fee doesn't accept card payment.": the fee is ticked while it is settled only in cash. On mobile, tap **I'll pay in cash** under this fee. On the web, click **I'll pay in cash** under this fee. The fee moves to "In cash, to be paid on site" and is no longer counted in the card total. You can then pay the other fees by card. If this button doesn't appear, the fee accepts neither card nor cash: check with the organiser how to pay it. - "A cash payment is already declared for this fee.": you have already chosen cash for this fee. The organiser collects it on site. - "Payments for this hunt are closed at the moment.": the hunt's hunting ground is suspended, no payment is accepted. Contact the organiser. - "An account already exists with this email. Sign in from the app.": you had already created an account with this address. Sign in from the app instead of creating another one. ## See also - [How do I reply to an invitation without an account?](article:how-do-i-reply-to-an-invitation-without-an-account) - [How do I pay for my participation?
