You received a link for a hunt and you don't have a Mes Chasses account? You can reply from your browser, without creating an account.
## On mobile
If the Mes Chasses app is installed and you have an account, the link may open in the app.
1. Open the link. Sign in if the app asks you to.
2. The hunt page opens, then a "Hunt added to your calendar" alert shows: "Confirm your attendance on the hunt page." Your reply stays "Pending" until you reply at the next step.
3. On the hunt page, in the "Are you taking part?" card, tap **Take part** or **Decline**.
4. To decline, the "Decline the invitation" sheet asks "Add a reason? (optional)". Write a reason if you want, then tap **Decline the invitation**. Only the hunt's organisation can read it.
Depending on your situation, opening the link in the app gives a different result:
- You had declined this hunt yourself: the "Invitation accepted" alert shows with "You're registered for this event.", and your attendance is confirmed straight away.
- You are already registered for the hunt: no alert, the hunt page opens.
- The organiser had kept your refusal: the "Invitation unavailable" screen shows "The organiser declined your attendance for this event." Tap **Back to home**.
Without an account, open the link in your phone's browser: the reply page is the same as on a computer.
## On the web
### Confirm without an account
1. Open the link you received. The page shows the hunt, its date, the person inviting you ("Invited by") and the meeting point.
2. If the organiser has set up any fees, the "Prices" box lists them with their amount, the "Required" note (or "Optional" for the meal) and the accepted payment methods.
3. Click **Confirm my attendance**. If you already have an account, the "Already have a Mes Chasses account?" box offers **Sign in**: in that case go through "Confirm with your account".
4. Enter your **First name**, your **Last name** and your **Email** (required), and your **Phone (optional)** if you want.
5. "Your licence" section: without a weapon, tick **I'm coming unarmed**, no licence is asked for. With a weapon, enter your licence (scan or manual entry), or choose **I'll complete it later**.
6. If the hunt accepts dogs, say how many you are bringing, in the "Dogs" section.
7. If a meal is offered, tick **I'm staying for the meal**. For a paid meal with several methods: choose **Card online** or **Cash on site**.
8. If the organiser has set up safety rules, click **View** to read them, then tick "I confirm that I have read and accepted the rules.".
9. Click **Confirm my registration**.
If the organiser has set up no payment, the "Registration complete" page appears with "Attendance confirmed", and "Meal booked" if you booked it.
### Confirm with your account
1. Sign in to your account, then open the link you received. You can also open the link, click **Confirm my attendance**, then **Sign in** in the "Already have a Mes Chasses account?" box: you come back to the invitation, signed in.
2. Click **Confirm my attendance**. Your **First name**, your **Last name**, your **Email** and your **Phone** are already filled in from your account.
3. "Your licence" section: without a weapon, tick **I'm coming unarmed**. With a weapon, you enter nothing: the page shows whether your licence is up to date in your account. If it is missing or incomplete, click **Open My licence** to complete it: this leaves the invitation page, then reopen the link you received.
4. If the hunt accepts dogs, say how many you are bringing, in the "Dogs" section. If the organiser has already noted dogs for you, their number is already filled in: correct it if needed.
5. If a meal is offered, tick **I'm staying for the meal**. For a paid meal with several methods: choose **Card online** or **Cash on site**.
6. If the organiser has set up safety rules, click **View** to read them, then tick "I confirm that I have read and accepted the rules.".
7. Click **Confirm my registration**. A message confirms your reply, then the page sends you back to the app.
The "Registration complete" page and the "Create your account in 10 seconds" box only show for a reply made without an account.
### Settle your payments after registering without an account
If the organiser has set up at least one payment, even an optional one like a donation, the "Registration saved" page appears instead of "Registration complete".
1. Under "Select your payments", tick what you are settling.
2. Click **Pay · amount**, or **Make a donation** for a donation on its own.
3. To pay in cash, when the organiser accepts it, click **I'll pay in cash**.
As long as a payment is still to be made, the page has no button to leave it. The link you received by email lets you come back to it.
### Decline the invitation
1. Open the link you received.
2. Click **I can't come**.
3. Write a reason if you want, in "Reason (optional)". The page specifies "Only visible to the organiser.".
4. Click **Send my response**.
If your refusal is recorded, the page shows "Response saved" and the hunt's organisation can read your reason, if you wrote one.
If the link can't find you in the participant list, the page shows "Noted": nothing is recorded and the organiser doesn't see your reason. This happens with a shared invitation link, opened without being signed in to your account. Sign in to your account before replying, or tell the organiser directly if they were counting on you.
## Good to know
- The organiser sees your reply in the participant list, with your meal if you booked it.
- Your reason for declining, on mobile as on the web, is only read by the hunt's organisation: the organiser, and the people who can edit the hunt or manage its participants. Other participants don't see it.
- The organisation reads your reason on a "Reason:" line, for a participant who is "Declined". On the web, the line is in the participant list, under the participant's name. On mobile, it is in the participant's record, under the "Declined" status. If you wrote nothing, no "Reason:" line shows. The organiser's steps are in [How do I manage replies to a hunt?](article:how-do-i-manage-replies-to-a-hunt).
- Your licence is only visible to the organiser.
- After the meal deadline, the box is replaced with "The meal booking deadline has passed.".
- On "Registration complete", **Google** and **.ics** only appear if the hunt's time is known and if the hunt is linked to a hunting ground.
- Still on "Registration complete", the optional "Create your account in 10 seconds" box creates an account with a password of at least 8 characters, by accepting the terms and conditions.
- You declined yourself and you open the link signed in to your account: the page shows "You declined this invitation. If you're available after all, you can still accept it.". Click **Confirm my attendance**, then **Confirm my registration**.
- The organiser didn't keep your participation and you open the link signed in to your account: the page shows "The organiser didn't keep your participation in this hunt. Contact them if you think this is a mistake." and no longer offers a reply button. The link doesn't undo this choice.
## If something goes wrong
- "This hunt is not published yet.": the organiser hasn't published it yet. Try again later.
- "This hunt has been cancelled." or "This hunt has already taken place.": it is no longer possible to reply.
- "This invitation is invalid, expired or has reached its maximum number of uses.": check that the link is complete, otherwise ask the organiser for a new one.
- "The link opens the app and asks me to sign in": the app requires an account. Paste the link into your browser to reply without an account.
- "Registration closed": the organiser has closed the participant list. Contact them.
- "Confirm my registration is greyed out": a required field, the licence (or the choice to complete it later), accepting the rules or the meal payment method is missing.
- "An account exists with this email. Sign in to confirm your participation.": sign in with that account to reply. The page sends you there by itself.
- "You are already taking part in this event.": your attendance is already confirmed with your account. The page sends you back to the app.
- "Several people are invited with this address. Tell the organiser directly.": this message appears when you click **I can't come**. The link is tied to an address shared by several participants, and the page doesn't know which one is replying. Tell the organiser.
- "Check unavailable" (web): "We can't check right now whether this email is already registered. You can carry on: registration will check it.": the page couldn't check your email when you left the field. Carry on with your entry: the check is done again at confirmation, and resumes if you leave the field again.
- "The organiser has recorded that you aren't taking part in this hunt. To change this, tell them directly." (web): you opened a link sent to your address without being signed in, entered this address in the form, and the organiser had kept your refusal. The link doesn't undo this choice: tell the organiser.
- "You are already registered for this event.": a registration already exists with this email or this licence. Sign in if you have an account, or tell the organiser.
- "This licence is already registered for another person with this organiser. Contact them.": contact the organiser.
- "The licence details are incomplete. Check them and try again.": a licence date isn't valid, some text you entered is too long, or the licence validation is missing some of its details (dates, scope, duration). Correct them and try again.
- "Your attendance is already confirmed. To cancel, tell the organiser directly.": this message appears when you click **I can't come** while your attendance is confirmed. The link can't cancel it. Contact the organiser.
