A hunt has a status that changes what other people see and can do. It is often what explains why your members don't see a hunt you just created.
To publish a hunt or send it back to draft, you need to be able to edit it: be its creator, be the administrator or a manager of the hunting ground, or have the **Edit all events** permission.
## On mobile
### Choose the status when creating
At the end of the creation form, tap **Create and publish** to publish straight away, or **Save as draft** to keep the hunt private.
### Publish a draft
1. Open the hunt, then tap **Manage** at the top of the screen.
2. Below the figures at the top, turn on the **Publish the event** switch ("Draft: nobody can see it yet").
The hunt is published straight away. The switch only appears while the hunt is a draft.
### Switch a published hunt back to draft
1. Open the hunt, then tap **Manage**.
2. Under "Settings", tap **Information**.
3. Under "Visibility", turn off **Publish the event**.
4. Tap **Save**.
### Find your drafts in the hunting ground's hunts list
1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open the hunting ground.
2. "Activities" group, tap **Hunts**.
3. Tap the "Status" filter, to the right of the "Period" filter. It shows "All" until a status is chosen. Choose **Drafts**. **Published** and **All** bring back the other hunts.
The list opens on "Upcoming" hunts. To find a draft whose date is in the past, first choose **All hunts** in the "Period" filter.
Each draft carries the "Draft" label. You find your own drafts here, and the administrator and the managers see those of the whole hunting ground. The "Status" filter is only offered to the administrator, the managers and the people who can create a hunt on the hunting ground.
## On the web
### Choose the status when creating
At the end of the creation form, click **Create and publish**, or **Save as draft** to keep the hunt private.
### Publish a draft
1. Open the hunt, **Info & registration** tab.
2. In the "Control" card, the "Status" line shows "Draft". Click **Publish the event**.
3. The "Publish this event?" window opens. Click **Publish**.
The window's text says what will happen, depending on the hunt:
- Hunt never published, start in the future: "It will become visible to hunters and the hunting ground's members will be notified."
- Hunt previously published then switched back to draft: "It will become visible again to hunters. The hunting ground's members aren't notified again; registered people are only notified if the date, time or title have changed."
- Hunt never published whose start (date and time) is already in the past: "It will become visible to hunters. As the hunt is already past, the hunting ground's members won't be notified."
### Switch a published hunt back to draft
1. Open the hunt, **Info & registration** tab.
2. In the "Control" card, "Status" line, click **Draft**.
3. Click **Switch back to draft** to confirm.
### Find your drafts in the hunting ground's hunts list
1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open the hunting ground.
2. Click **Hunts**.
There is no status filter on the web. A draft carries the "Draft" label in the list. Only those who can edit the hunt open it.
## The four statuses
- **Draft**: the hunt is being prepared without disturbing anyone. Only its creator, the administrator and the managers of the hunting ground find it in their hunts. No notification is sent.
- **Published**: the hunt is visible to the hunting ground's members and they can register. The administrator, the managers and the roles with the **Take part in all events** permission receive the notification. The hunt's creator doesn't receive it.
- **Ended**: the hunt's live session has ended. The organiser, or a person with the **Run the live hunt** permission, tapped **End** in the live session, on the mobile app, or the live session left open closed on its own at 23:59 on the evening of the hunt.
- **Cancelled**: the hunt was cancelled. It stays visible in the history.
A hunt that was never launched live keeps the **Published** status, even once its date has passed.
## What changes for other people
- Draft: no link invitations. A link can't be created, opened or accepted. In place of the invitation button, the hunt's management shows "Publish the hunt to invite".
- Draft: you can already add people from your member list. They receive their invitation when the hunt is published, and reminders only open at that point.
- Published: registrations and link invitations open, notification sent to the administrator, the managers and the roles with the **Take part in all events** permission (unless the hunt's start is already past), the hunt appears in their lists.
- Cancelled: no more registration possible. The cancellation notifies registered people, as well as the administrator, the managers and the roles with the **Take part in all events** permission.
## Good to know
- The publication notification is sent only once, on the first publication. Switching a hunt back to draft and republishing it doesn't send a second one to the administrator, the managers or the roles with the **Take part in all events** permission.
- If the hunt's start (date and time) is already past when you publish it, the notification isn't sent: the hunt is published, but the administrator, the managers and the roles with the **Take part in all events** permission aren't notified. This applies to a hunt created with **Create and publish** as well as to a draft published later.
- While the hunt is a draft, your changes don't notify anyone.
- Republishing a hunt whose date, time or title changed during the draft notifies its "Confirmed" or "Pending" registered people: a notification for those who have an account, an email for those who don't. The message compares with the hunt as it was published before the draft, and the person who republishes isn't notified. If the date changes at the same time as the time, it is the date change that is announced. If nothing has changed, no one is notified.
- Cancelling or deleting a hunt that was published then switched back to draft notifies its registered people, as for a published hunt, with the date, time and title from before the draft. With **Delete without notifying**, nothing is sent. Cancelling or deleting a draft that was never published notifies no one.
- After the live session ends, the organiser, or a person with the **Run the live hunt** permission, can tap **Reopen the hunt** on mobile: it goes back to the **Published** status and the live session resumes until 23:59 the same day.
## Troubleshooting
- "My members don't see my hunt": it is probably a draft. Publish it.
- "I can't find the Publish the event switch" (mobile): the hunt is already published. To switch it back to draft, go to **Manage**, then **Information**.
- "I can't invite by link": the hunt is a draft. Publish it and the invitation link becomes available.
- "My past hunt still has the Published status": it wasn't launched live. That is normal.
- "My members received no notification when I published my hunt": its start (date and time) was already past at the time of publication. A hunt already started or past isn't announced.
- "My registered people received nothing when I republished my hunt": they are only notified if the date, time or title changed compared with the published hunt, and only if they are "Confirmed" or "Pending".
