Plan a hunt linked to a hunting ground: date, type, weapons, meeting point, guests, dogs and meal.
You must be an active member of a hunting ground with the right to create hunts there. You can plan months ahead.

## On mobile
1. Tap the central **Start** button in the bottom bar. The "Start a hunt" sheet opens.
2. Tap **Plan a hunt**.
3. Fill in the details:
- **Add a photo** (optional): pick one from your gallery.
- **Hunting ground**: pick the hunting ground.
- **Title (optional)**: left empty, the hunt takes an automatic title, shown below the field.
- **Hunt type**: Driven hunt, Stalking, Stand hunting or Small game.
- **Date** and **Time**.
- **Authorised weapons**: Rifle, Shotgun, Buckshot, Bow. Rifle and Shotgun are ticked by default. Tick at least one.
- **Meeting point**: by default the one for the hunting ground ("Hunting ground point"). Tap the row to place another one on the map.
- **Dogs allowed**: turn on to let participants come with their dogs.
- **Guests allowed**: turn on, then tap **Edit settings** to set the quotas. Without any settings here, the hunt uses those of the hunting ground.
- **Meal**: turn on to offer a meal, then set the **Booking deadline** (the day of the hunt by default). For a paid meal, turn on **Paid meal**, enter the **Meal price** and the **Payment methods**: Card (online on Mes Chasses) or Cash (on the day).
4. Tap **Create and publish**, or **Save as draft** to keep it private.
Another route on mobile: in the **Hunts** list of the hunting ground, tap the + icon. The form opens with that hunting ground already selected.
## On the web
1. Click **Hunting grounds** in the menu, then open your hunting ground.
2. **Hunts** section in the left menu, then **Organise a hunt**.
3. Fill in the details:
- **Event photo** (optional).
- **Title (optional)**: for example "Wild boar driven hunt". Left empty, the hunt takes an automatic title.
- **Hunt type**: Driven hunt, Stalking, Stand hunting or Small game.
- **Date** and **Time**: the date is empty by default, the time is prefilled. Both are required, including for a draft.
- **Authorised weapons**: Rifle, Shotgun, Combination gun, Bow, Buckshot. Rifle and Shotgun are ticked by default. Tick at least one.
- **Dogs allowed**: tick to let participants bring their dogs.
- **Guests allowed**: tick, then set the quota and the guest types by role (Syndicate member, Member). Without any settings here, the hunt uses the quotas of the hunting ground.
- **Meal**: tick to offer a meal, then fill in the **Booking deadline**. For a paid meal, tick **Paid meal**, enter the **Meal price (€)** and the **Payment methods**: Card (online on Mes Chasses) or Cash (on the day).
- **Meeting point**: taken from the hunting ground, with the note "Inherited from the hunting ground". Click **Change** to pick another one.
4. Click **Create and publish** to publish right away, or **Save as draft** to keep the hunt private and publish it later from its page.
Another route on the web: the **Organise a hunt** button at the top of the dashboard first asks you to pick the hunting ground.
## How many hunts per month
The hunting ground's plan sets the number of hunts per month:
- Discovery: one hunt per month, counted in the month it takes place.
- Standard and Premium: no limit.
The count covers the hunts of the hunting ground in that month, drafts included. A cancelled hunt doesn't count: cancelling the hunt of the month frees up its slot. A copy made with **Duplicate the hunt** counts too, even as a draft.
Publishing a draft doesn't free a slot, since it already counts. To free one, delete a draft from that month or move it to another month.
## Good to know
- A published hunt is visible to the hunting ground members, who get a notification. As a draft, it stays private and triggers no notification.
- Guest settings, meal and meeting point can also be changed after creation, from the hunt management.
- On mobile, your drafts in progress are listed under the two buttons on the "Start a hunt" sheet. Tap one to resume it.
- On mobile, if you leave the form after changing a field, the app asks "Discard changes?" with the message "Unsaved changes will be lost.". Tap **Cancel** to stay on the form, or **Discard** to leave it. A form left untouched closes without the prompt. Available from version 5.0.2 of the app.
- On the web, interrupted input is picked back up when the form reopens, with the message "Your previous input has been found on this device (not saved)." Click **Start again from scratch** to clear it.
- To hunt without a hunting ground, use the immediate hunt, on the mobile app.
## Troubleshooting
- "Tick at least one authorised weapon.": no box is ticked in **Authorised weapons**. The hunt isn't created until at least one weapon is ticked.
- "Hunt limit reached for this hunting ground in …": the chosen month already has its hunt and the hunting ground is on the Discovery plan. Pick a date in another month, or delete a draft from this month. On mobile, the same refusal appears as a banner "Discovery plan limit reached". The hunting ground administrator can change the plan. On the web, they go through the **Subscription** section. On mobile, they tap the **Unlimited hunts** button on the banner.
- "I click **Save as draft** or **Create and publish** and nothing is created" (web): the **Date** is empty. A bubble appears on the field: pick a date, then try again.
- "No hunting ground available. Create a hunting ground first." (mobile): you aren't an active member of any hunting ground. A membership request still pending doesn't count. Create a hunting ground, or start an immediate hunt.
- "I don't see Organise a hunt" (web): you don't have the right to create hunts on this hunting ground. Ask the administrator.
- "I don't see the + icon in the hunting ground's hunts list" (mobile): you don't have the right to create hunts on this hunting ground. Ask the administrator.
