How do I create an immediate hunt?

An immediate hunt starts an outing on the spot, with no hunting ground and no preparation. It suits stalking, stand hunting or small game. Anyone can create one, from the mobile app. You can delete it while it isn't locked: see "Delete an immediate hunt". ## On mobile ### Create an immediate hunt 1. Tap the central **Start** button in the bottom bar. The "Start a hunt" sheet opens. 2. Tap **Start now**. 3. Choose the hunt type: **Stalking**, **Stand hunting** or **Small game**. Driven hunt isn't offered for an immediate hunt. 4. To invite companions after starting, turn on **Hunt with others**. 5. Tap **Start now**, or **Start and invite** if you turned on **Hunt with others**. The hunt is created at the current day and time, already underway. You land on its page, where **Join** opens the live hunt. With **Start and invite**, you land first on the **Invite** screen. ### Invite hunters during the live hunt You can invite at any time, including during the live hunt, as long as you created the hunt. 1. In the live hunt, tap the participants icon (two silhouettes) in the bottom menu: the **Participants** tab opens. 2. Tap **Invite a participant**. The "Invite hunters" sheet opens. 3. Tap **Copy** or **Share** to send the share link, or pick someone from your contacts and tap **Invite**. ### Delete an immediate hunt You can delete an immediate hunt you created, as long as it isn't locked. Deletion only works on the mobile app. 1. **Hunts** tab, then open the hunt. 2. Tap **Manage** at the top of the screen. 3. Tap the "⋯" menu at the top right, then **Delete the event**. The "Delete the event?" sheet opens. 4. Tap **Delete and notify participants** to send a cancellation by email and notification, or **Delete without notifying** to send nothing. You go back to the list of hunts. The hunt has disappeared for everyone, along with its data, and nothing in the app restores it. ## On the web Creating an immediate hunt only works on the mobile app. Once created, it appears on the web like any other hunt, labelled "Immediate hunt". The web doesn't let you delete it. ## Good to know - The hunt is titled "Immediate hunt". - It isn't linked to any hunting ground, so it doesn't count against the monthly quota of any plan. - Without a hunting ground, it has no attendance sheet, no hunting ground harvest plan and no hunt leader to appoint, and it can't be duplicated. - Dogs aren't allowed at the start of an immediate hunt. - An immediate hunt can no longer be deleted once its day has ended, nor as soon as it carries a harvest (an animal marked "Harvested", or a tag attached or awaiting validation). The **Delete the event** entry no longer appears. ## Troubleshooting - "I don't see the Start now button": it sits on the "Start a hunt" sheet, which opens from the **Start** button in the middle of the bottom bar. This bar is on the Home, Hunts, Hunting grounds and Account screens. - "I don't see Invite a participant during the live hunt": this button only appears on an immediate hunt, and only for the person organising it. On a hunting ground hunt, invitations go through the hunt management. - "I want to organise a driven hunt right now": driven hunt isn't offered as an immediate hunt. Plan a hunt on a hunting ground and pick today's date. - "I can't find how to delete my immediate hunt": open it on the mobile app, tap **Manage**, then the "⋯" menu and **Delete the event**. The web doesn't offer this action for an immediate hunt. - "I don't see Delete the event on my immediate hunt": the hunt is locked, because its day has ended or it carries a harvest. It can still be viewed but can no longer be deleted. - "I don't see Manage on an immediate hunt": this button is open to the person who created the hunt.
