How do I download a hunting ground map offline?

Keep the base map of your hunting ground on your phone to view it when there is no signal. This feature is on the hunting ground's stands map. Any member who sees the **Stands** section can do this: you must be administrator or manager of the hunting ground, or have the "View stands" permission. Syndicate members and members have this permission by default. No management permission is needed. ## On mobile 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, then tap your hunting ground. 2. "Hunting ground" group, then **Stands**. 3. At the top of the page, tap **Map**. The hunting ground map appears. 4. At the top right of the map, choose the base layer: **Map** or **Satellite**. The layer shown is the one that will be downloaded. 5. At the bottom left of the map, tap **Offline**. The button gives way to a progress percentage, for example "45%". 6. When "Available offline" appears with a tick, the map is saved on your phone. ### Delete a hunting ground's map 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, then tap your hunting ground. 2. "Hunting ground" group, then **Stands**, then **Map**. 3. To the right of "Available offline", tap the bin icon. The map is deleted straight away, with no confirmation, and the **Offline** button returns. ### Delete all offline maps 1. **Account** tab, "Account" section, then **Account & security**. 2. "Phone" section, tap **Storage**. The "Offline storage" sheet opens. The "Hunting grounds downloaded" row gives the number of maps saved on your phone. 3. Tap **Delete offline maps**. The maps of all your hunting grounds and all your hunts are deleted, with no confirmation. ## On the web The offline map of a hunting ground exists only on the mobile app. ## Good to know - The **Offline** button appears only if the hunting ground has its boundary drawn, or at least two stands placed in different locations. - The area is chosen automatically: the rectangle enclosing the hunting ground boundary and all placed stands. Without a boundary, it is the one enclosing the stands. It can't be adjusted. - Only one base layer is saved per hunting ground, **Map** or **Satellite**. To change it, delete the map with the bin icon, choose the other base layer, then tap **Offline**. - The map is saved from zoom level 10 to level 15. More detailed levels aren't kept. - Only the base map is downloaded. The layers (hedges, crops, water bodies) are prepared with a hunt's offline map; see [How do I download a map offline?](article:how-do-i-download-a-map-offline). - The app doesn't show the download size. It sets no retention period: the map stays on the phone until you delete it. - The map is for your phone only. Other members don't receive it. - In "Offline storage", "Hunting grounds downloaded" counts all saved maps: one for each hunting ground, and two for each prepared hunt (map and satellite). - The stands and boundary shown are for information only. The decision to shoot remains the shooter's. ## If something goes wrong - "I don't see the Offline button": it exists only on the **Map** view of the **Stands** page, and only if the hunting ground boundary is drawn or at least two stands are placed in different locations. - "The percentage stays stuck or shows 0%": a download that was interrupted (app closed or connection lost) is still considered in progress, with no button to restart or delete it. Open the **Account** tab, then **Account & security**, then **Storage**, and tap **Delete offline maps**: this deletes the maps of all your hunting grounds and all your hunts. Then return to the hunting ground map and tap **Offline**. - "The Map view is empty": the hunting ground has no boundary drawn, no stand located and no meeting point. The screen shows "No stand", or "No stand located" if the stands have no GPS coordinates. Ask the administrator or a manager of the hunting ground. - "The download failed": a one-line message appears below the button, and the **Offline** button returns. Check your connection, then tap it again. - "Delete offline maps is greyed out": no map is saved; "Hunting grounds downloaded" shows 0. - "The Incomplete deletion alert appears": some maps couldn't be deleted.
