Add people to your hunting ground to build the team and organise your hunts. A person can be invited to create an account, or simply added to the member list so that they appear in your hunts.
The administrator and managers of the hunting ground can invite or add people. They can also grant the **Invite members** permission to the entire Member level or the entire Syndicate member level: people at that level can then invite, within the limits described below. You also need available slots in your plan.
## On mobile
### Adding or inviting a person (administrator, manager)
1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open your hunting ground.
2. Under "Administration", tap **Members**.
3. Tap the add icon in the top right corner (silhouette with a +). Four ways to add a person appear:
- **Scan the validation**: take a photo of the hunter's licence validation, or choose one from the gallery. The first name and last name fill in automatically.
- **Add a member**: create a record by hand (first name, last name, phone, email, member number, committee member and their role). The email is optional: you can invite the person later from their record.
- **From my contacts**: choose one or more people from your contacts. Those who already have an account join the hunting ground directly. For the others, an invitation link opens in the share menu.
- **From your phone contacts**: import people from your phone's address book. They join the hunting ground members.
People added directly join at the "Member" level. Their access can then be adjusted on their record.
### Inviting with the "Invite members" permission
1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open your hunting ground.
2. At the top of the hunting ground page, tap the **Members** card. If you also have the "View the team" permission, the "Administration" section offers the same access.
3. Tap the "..." menu in the top right, then **Invite by email**. The "Invite members" sheet opens.
4. Tick the people from your contacts, then tap the button at the bottom, for example **Invite (2)** for two people ticked.
5. The share menu opens with the hunting ground invitation link. Send it through the channel of your choice.
Each person who opens this link joins at the Member level; their request awaits approval from the committee.
### Sharing the hunting ground code
This card is visible to the administrator, the managers, and any member or syndicate member who has the **Invite members** permission.
1. Open the **Members** page of the hunting ground. The "Invitation code" card is at the top.
2. Tap the card to copy the code, or tap **Share** to send the link.
The code can't be renewed from the mobile app: use the web.
## On the web
### Inviting by email
1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open your hunting ground, then the **Members** tab.
2. Click **Add**, under "Invite to Mes Chasses", then **Invite by email**.
3. Paste the addresses, separated by commas or line breaks. Valid addresses appear in green; unreadable entries appear in red.
4. Administrator or manager: choose the **Role on joining** from the list: Member, Syndicate member or Manager.
5. Click the button at the bottom. It reads **Invite** as long as no address is recognised, then for example **Invite 2 people**. A report shows what was sent and what failed, with the reason.
With only the **Invite members** permission, no role is offered at step 4: the window displays "Member (the committee can change it afterwards)".
### Sharing the access code
The "Invite by code" window is available to the administrator, the managers, and any member or syndicate member who has the **Invite members** permission.
1. Click **Add**, under "Invite to Mes Chasses", then **Share the access code**.
2. The "Invite by code" window displays the **Access code** to dictate and the **Direct link**.
3. Click **Share** to send or copy the link. **New code** replaces the current code.
### Adding directly to the member list (administrator, manager)
1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open your hunting ground, then the **Members** tab.
2. Click **Add**.
3. Under "Add to the member list", click **Create a record**, **Scan the validation** or **Import a list**.
These people appear in your hunts without having an account. Details on each method are in [How do I manage the member list of my hunting ground?](article:how-do-i-manage-the-member-list-of-my-hunting-ground).
## What happens next
### After an email invitation on the web
The person joins without committee approval when they open the link with an account whose invited address is confirmed. In all other cases, their entry becomes a request for the committee to approve.
### After **Invite by email** on mobile
This button shares the hunting ground invitation link, the same as the code: the person's request always awaits committee approval.
### After a code or a sharing link
Entries by code or sharing link always require committee approval, and the person joins at the Member level. Only the administrator and managers accept them.
- On the web, these requests appear in the "To review" block on the **Members** page.
- On mobile, they appear under "Pending requests".
A person who joins the hunting ground appears in the member list, ready to be filled in (licence, number).
## Good to know
- On the web, the role is chosen when inviting by email.
- On mobile, the role is set after adding, on the member's record.
- Member limit per plan: Discovery 2, Standard 20, Premium unlimited.
- The **Invite members** permission ("Generate team invitation links") is granted to an access level, Members or Syndicate members, and then applies to all people at that level. Only the administrator and manager grant it: see [How do I understand roles and permissions?](article:how-do-i-understand-roles-and-permissions), walkthrough on mobile and on the web.
- With this permission, a person can see the hunting ground code and share it. They can also renew it on the web, but not on mobile.
- With this permission, a person can invite by email, on the web, to the Member role only. On mobile, the "..." menu on the **Members** page offers **Invite by email**.
- On the web, a person invited by email joins straight away if they open the link with an account whose invited address is confirmed; otherwise, their request awaits committee approval. A person who joins by code, by sharing link or by **Invite by email** on mobile always awaits this approval.
- This permission doesn't give access to the full team list, nor to dismissing or revoking an invitation, nor to creating records in the member list. These actions remain with the administrator and managers.
- On the web, if you paste more addresses than there are available slots, a warning appears. The invitations are sent, but the extra people will only be able to join the team once a slot is freed.
## Troubleshooting
- "Member limit reached for this hunting ground (2/2 members). Upgrade to a higher plan to add more members.": your plan is full. Set a member to Former to free a slot, or upgrade to a higher plan. The numbers in the message are those of your hunting ground.
- "The member limit for this hunting ground has been reached: inviting more people requires a higher plan." (web, banner in the **Invite by email** window): your plan is full. The banner offers **See plans**.
- "Your organisation is full (2/2)" (mobile, add sheet and top of the **Members** page): your plan is full. The numbers are those of your hunting ground. On Discovery, the **Unlock** button is followed by the Standard plan price once it has loaded. On Standard, the banner shows the plan limit, and the **View subscription** button opens the **Subscription** screen.
- "I cannot see the Add button on the Members page" (web): your role doesn't allow you to invite or add people. Ask the administrator or a manager to do it, or to grant you the **Invite members** permission.
- "I cannot see the add icon" (mobile): this icon is reserved for the administrator and managers. With only the **Invite members** permission, the "..." menu in the top right of the **Members** page offers **Invite by email**.
- "I have the Invite members permission, but I cannot see Create a record, Scan the validation or Import a list": these actions are reserved for the administrator and managers. With the **Invite members** permission, you have email invitation and the code.
- "I cannot choose the role on joining" (web): with only the **Invite members** permission, the invited person always joins at the Member role. For a different role, ask the administrator or a manager to invite the person, or to change their role afterwards.
- "I cannot see the access code": you have neither the administrator or manager role, nor the **Invite members** permission. Ask the administrator or a manager for this permission.
- "No active invitation code." (web): click **Generate a code** in the "Invite by code" window.
- "The person opened the link but their request is awaiting my approval": they joined by code, by a link shared from mobile, or by an email invitation opened with an account whose invited address isn't confirmed. Accept their request in the "To review" block (web) or "Pending requests" (mobile).
