How do I transfer the administration?

Last updated
You can transfer ownership of a hunting ground (the administrator role) to another member. The chosen member receives your request and decides whether to accept or decline it. You remain administrator until they respond. Only the current administrator can propose the transfer, to an active member who has a Mes Chasses account. ## On mobile Available from version 4.2.6 of the app. ### Proposing the transfer (current administrator) 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open the hunting ground, under "Administration", tap **Members**. 2. Tap the member, then, at the very bottom of their record, **Transfer ownership**. 3. Read "Transfer ownership to {name}?", then tap **Send request**. ### Responding to a received request (recipient member) 1. **Hunting grounds** tab. The request appears at the top of the list, under "Transfer requests received": "{name} offers you to become the owner of the hunting ground ...". It also appears at the top of the page of the hunting ground concerned. 2. Tap **Accept** or **Decline**. 3. In the "Become the owner?" or "Decline the transfer?" alert, tap **Accept** or **Decline** again. If you accept, you become administrator and the former administrator becomes manager. ### Tracking or cancelling a sent request 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open the hunting ground. "Transfer request pending" appears at the top of the page, with the recipient's name and the expiry date. The administrator and managers see it. 2. To withdraw it, tap **Cancel request**. Only the administrator sees this button. 3. In the "Cancel request?" alert, tap **Cancel request**. **Keep** leaves the request pending. The same card appears, for the administrator, on the recipient member's record. ### Taking over the subscription (new administrator) This applies to a hunting ground that has a paid subscription in progress. 1. **Hunting grounds** tab, open the hunting ground, under "Administration", tap **Subscription**. 2. Tap **Take over the subscription**. The "Take over the subscription" sheet opens. 3. Tap the plan to take over (Standard or Premium), then enter your card on the payment page. You can also do this right after accepting: the "Transfer accepted" alert offers **Take over the subscription**. **Later** closes it without taking over anything. ## On the web ### Proposing the transfer (current administrator) 1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open your hunting ground, then the **Members** section in the left menu. 2. Click the member to open their record, then, in the "Access & permissions" block, click **Transfer ownership**. 3. In the "Offer ownership?" window, click **Send request**. ### Responding to a received request (recipient member) 1. **Hunting grounds** menu. The request appears above the hunting grounds: "{name} offers you to become the owner of the hunting ground ...". It also appears at the top of the page of the hunting ground concerned. 2. Click **Accept** or **Decline**. 3. In the "Become the owner?" or "Decline the transfer?" window, click **Accept** or **Decline** again. If you accept, you become administrator and the former administrator becomes manager. ### Tracking or cancelling a sent request 1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open your hunting ground, then the **Members** section in the left menu. "Transfer request pending" appears at the top of the page, with the recipient's name and the expiry date. The administrator and managers see it. 2. To withdraw it, click **Cancel request**. Only the administrator sees this button. ### Taking over the subscription (new administrator) This applies to a hunting ground that has a paid subscription in progress. 1. **Hunting grounds** menu, open your hunting ground, then the **Subscription** section in the left menu. 2. Click **Take over the subscription**, then enter your card on the payment page. ## Good to know - A new request cancels the previous one. - The request expires after 7 days. A recipient who takes too long needs to receive it again: "This request has expired. Ask the owner to send it again." - If the recipient declines, the current administrator is notified and remains administrator. - If the hunting ground has a paid subscription in progress, it runs until the end of the period without renewal on the former administrator's card. - The new administrator who takes over the subscription is only charged at the end of the current period. - The subscription takeover is no longer available when it ends in less than 2 days. The screen then shows "The current subscription ends on {date}, in less than two days. You will be able to subscribe once it has ended.": the new administrator subscribes at that point. ## Troubleshooting - "I cannot see Transfer ownership": only the administrator sees this button, on the record of a member who has a Mes Chasses account. On mobile, it only appears for an active member. - "On mobile, Transfer ownership has disappeared from the member's record": a request is already pending for this member; their record shows the "Transfer request pending" card instead. Tap **Cancel request** on their record, confirm, then send the request again. - "The new owner must be an active member of the hunting ground": choose a member whose account is active on this hunting ground. On the web, the button is still visible for a pending member, but the request doesn't go through. - "This hunting ground is suspended. No transfer is possible at this time": the transfer becomes possible again when the hunting ground is active again. - "The recipient does not see my request": check that it hasn't expired, and that they are opening the hunting ground list or the hunting ground concerned with the invited account. ## See also - [How do I understand roles and permissions?](article:how-do-i-understand-roles-and-permissions) - [How do I manage the hunting ground subscription?](article:how-do-i-manage-the-hunting-grounds-subscription) - [How do I delete a hunting ground?](article:how-do-i-delete-a-hunting-ground) - [How do I manage the member list of my hunting ground?](article:how-do-i-manage-the-member-list-of-my-hunting-ground)
