The Apple Watch app shows your upcoming hunts, your membership card and your licence on your wrist. During a hunt in progress, its driven hunt mode alerts you to live events and lets you report game.
## On mobile
The Apple Watch app is used with the iPhone app. It doesn't exist on Android.
### Install the app on the watch
1. Use an Apple Watch Series 4 or later, running watchOS 10 as a minimum.
2. Install the Mes Chasses app on the iPhone paired with the watch: the watch app installs with it.
3. Open Mes Chasses on the iPhone and sign in. The watch then receives your session and your data, with no password to enter.
Until the watch has received anything, it shows "Open Mes Chasses on your iPhone".
### View your hunts
1. Open Mes Chasses on the watch. The home screen lists your next 3 hunts at most, with the date, the hunting ground, the hunt type and a symbol for your reply (confirmed, absent or pending).
2. Tap a hunt to see its details: hunting ground, time, meeting point, then **My stands** and **Horn calls** when they are set.
3. To get to the meeting point, tap **Directions**: the watch's Maps app opens driving directions.
With no upcoming hunt, the home screen shows "No upcoming hunt".
The details also show the weather (temperature, wind, sunrise and sunset). It is the weather at the meeting point of your next hunt, whichever hunt is open, and it only appears if the meeting point has coordinates.
### Reply to an invitation
1. Open the hunt details on the watch.
2. Tap **Going** or **Not going**.
If the hunt requires a weapon, dogs or a meal, the watch shows "Finish on your iPhone" instead of the buttons: reply from the iPhone.
With no network, the watch shows "Pending send" and sends the reply by itself as soon as it finds a route (iPhone or network).
On the iPhone, the invitation notification also offers the **Going** and **Not going** buttons.
### Being guided to your stand
1. Open the details of a hunt where you have been allocated a stand.
2. Under **My stands**, tap the row "Drive 1 · Stand 4" (your drive number and stand number).
3. Follow the arrow: it shows the direction to the stand, with the distance below.
If the watch's compass is unavailable, the arrow points to the true bearing and the watch shows "North up". If the stand has no coordinates, the watch shows "No coordinates for this stand", with no arrow.
Within 15 metres, the watch vibrates once and shows "Arrived". It only vibrates once per time you open the stand screen.
### Show your membership card
1. On the home screen, tap **Membership card**.
2. Hold up the QR code full screen. Under the QR code, the watch shows the hunting ground, the season, your name and your member number.
The entry only appears if you have a membership card. If you have several, the watch shows the first one. A card whose season is over carries the "Season ended" note.
### View your licence
1. On the home screen, tap **My licence**.
2. Read the status at the top of the screen ("Licence OK", "Incomplete licence" or "No licence"), with the reason when it is incomplete.
3. Scroll through the **Licence** (holder, number), **Validation** (season, number, departments, **Big game**) and **Insurance** (company, policy number, end date) blocks.
If the insurance has expired, the watch shows "Insurance expired". With no licence saved, it shows "Add your licence in the iPhone app".
This information stays readable with no network. Your address, date of birth and other personal data never appear on the watch. The screen reminds you to carry your official documents: the watch doesn't replace them.
### View a hunt's horn calls
1. Open the hunt details, then tap **Horn calls**.
2. For each species, read the sequence to sound for each status (Seen, Wounded, Harvested…). A tag type with a different sequence appears under the species, followed by the general sequences.
The **Horn calls** row only appears for a hunt starting within 48 hours and for which horn calls are set. If no sequence is set, the screen shows "No horn call set".
### Start driven hunt mode from the iPhone
1. On the day of the hunt, open it on the iPhone, **Information** tab.
2. Tap **Join** in the "Driven hunt in progress" banner, or **Resume** in the "Driven hunt paused" banner. The live screen opens.
The banner only appears on the day of the hunt, if you have confirmed your attendance or if you can run the live hunt.
The watch then starts driven hunt mode by itself, if it is paired with the iPhone and the watch app is installed. To start or join the live hunt, see [How do I start a live hunt?](article:how-do-i-start-a-live-hunt).
### Start driven hunt mode from the watch
1. On the watch, open the details of a hunt happening today.
2. Tap **Hunt mode**. The button only appears for today's hunts.
The first time, the watch asks for Health permission to start an activity session. If you decline, driven hunt mode still works, but the watch may go to sleep: it says so.
### Read the driven hunt mode screen
The screen shows the hunt status ("Hunt started", "Hunt paused", "Resumed", "Hunt ended"), the current drive, the arrow towards your stand for this drive (or "No stand for this drive"), the last report received, and the **Report** button. At the bottom, a label gives the source: "via iPhone", "direct" (the watch reads the live hunt itself, iPhone out of range) or "offline".
Driven hunt mode stops by itself at the end of the hunt, 10 hours after it starts, or when you sign out on the iPhone.
### Report game from the watch
1. In driven hunt mode, tap **Report**.
2. Tap the species.
3. If needed, set **Number** (1 to 20).
4. Tap the status: **Seen**, **Harvested**, **Wounded** or **Missed**. The report goes out straight away.
5. For a harvest, if several harvest plan lines match, the "Choose a line" screen appears: tap the right line.
The watch confirms with "Report sent" and reminds you of the horn call to sound, for example "Sound: 3 blasts + rigodon". For a harvest, it adds "Attach the tag on the iPhone.": the tag is attached from the iPhone app.
For the location, the watch first uses its GPS position, then the coordinates of your stand for the current drive, then its last known position less than 10 minutes old. With no position at all, it shows "No location available: send this report from the iPhone." and sends nothing.
With no network, the watch shows "Pending send" and the number of reports waiting appears at the bottom of the screen. The queue empties by itself as soon as the watch finds a route.
### Driven hunt mode vibrations
- Start of the hunt: one vibration. Resuming after a pause gives the same.
- Pause: a different vibration.
- End of the hunt: a success vibration, then the pause one.
- Change of drive: two vibrations close together.
- Report from another hunter: a notification vibration. The text gives the species, the status and who reported it.
### Add the Next hunt complication
1. Touch and hold the watch face, then tap Edit.
2. Tap a complication slot, then choose **Next hunt**.
The content depends on the slot:
- Circular slot: the countdown alone.
- Inline slot: the countdown, then the hunt title.
- Rectangular slot: the hunt title, the day and time, with no countdown.
The title is the hunting ground, or failing that the hunt type. The countdown shows days ("D-3") from 24 h, hours ("5 h") from 1 h, then the hunt's time. With no upcoming hunt, the complication shows "No hunt".
### Add the Tags complication
1. Touch and hold the watch face, then tap Edit.
2. Tap a rectangular slot, then choose **Tags**.
The complication shows the 3 species with the most tags left on the harvest plan of your next hunt's hunting ground, current season, with the number remaining. With no tags, it shows "No tags". It exists only in a rectangular slot.
### Sign out
Signing out on the iPhone empties the watch: no more hunt, no more card, no more licence. The screen goes back to "Open Mes Chasses on your iPhone". Signing back in on the iPhone fills it again.
## On the web
The Apple Watch app doesn't exist on the web.
## Good to know
- Mes Chasses is a tool for information. Positions and reports are for guidance only: the decision to shoot remains the shooter's.
- The watch shows what the iPhone sends it. The data is from the last time Mes Chasses was opened on the iPhone.
- By default, nothing is saved in the Health app.
## If something goes wrong
- "The watch doesn't show my data": open Mes Chasses on the iPhone, signed in to your account, and wait a few moments.
- "The watch shows: Open Mes Chasses on your iPhone": you aren't signed in on the iPhone, or the watch has never received any data. Open the app on the iPhone.
- "I replied on the watch, but the iPhone doesn't show it": if the watch shows "Pending send", the reply goes out as soon as it finds a route. Then reopen Mes Chasses on the iPhone to refresh.
- "I don't see Horn calls on my hunt": the hunt starts more than 48 hours from now, or no horn call is set for it.
- "I don't see the driven hunt banner": it only appears on the day of the hunt, once the driven hunt is started and as long as it isn't over, for participants whose attendance is confirmed or marked present and for the people who run the live hunt.
- "The arrow to my stand doesn't show": the stand has no coordinates (message shown), the watch is still looking for your position (message "Locating…"), or location access is denied in the watch's settings.
- "I can't report game": if the watch shows "No location available: send this report from the iPhone.", it found neither your position nor your stand's. Report from the iPhone. If it shows "No species available for this hunt.", the hunt has no species set: check it on the iPhone.
- "Hunt mode stopped by itself": it stops at the end of the hunt, 10 hours after it starts, or when you sign out on the iPhone.
