You have just corrected a hunting ground drive: a stand added, a name changed. Upcoming hunts may already be using it, with a copy of the older version. Mes Chasses doesn't touch any hunt behind your back: the app shows you what would change, and you decide.
The reason is simple: a hunter already placed on a stand must not end up without one without you knowing.
For the question to come up, you need to be able to manage the hunting ground's drives: be its administrator or manager, or hold the **Manage stands** permission.
## On mobile
### Edit a hunting ground drive
1. Open the hunting ground, "Hunting ground" group, then **Drives**.
2. Tap the drive's name, make your changes, then tap **Save**.
3. If upcoming hunts are affected, the "Update upcoming hunts?" sheet opens. Otherwise, the save happens without a prompt.
4. Tap **Update these hunts** to apply the new version, or **Keep these hunts as they are** to change nothing.
### Reactivate an archived drive
1. Open the hunting ground, "Hunting ground" group, then **Drives**.
2. Tap the **Archived** tab (the number of archived drives appears in brackets).
3. On the drive's row, tap the "···" menu, then **Reactivate**.
4. If upcoming hunts are affected, the "Update upcoming hunts?" sheet opens. Tap **Update these hunts** to apply the hunting ground version, or **Keep these hunts as they are** to change nothing.
### Copy back a hunt's edits into the hunting ground drive
You must be organising the hunt and hold the **Manage stands** permission on the hunting ground. The action is only offered for a hunt drive copied from an active hunting ground drive.
1. Open the hunt, tap **Manage**, then **Hunter placement**.
2. Tap the "⋯" menu, then **Prepare the drives**. The "Drives of the day" screen opens.
3. Tap the drive you want to copy back.
4. Tap the "⋯" menu at the top of the screen, then **Copy back to "Black Wood"**, where "Black Wood" is the name of the original hunting ground drive. A confirmation opens.
5. Tap **Copy back**.
6. If other upcoming hunts use this drive, the "Update upcoming hunts?" sheet opens. Tap **Update these hunts** to apply the new version, or **Keep these hunts as they are** to change nothing. The hunt you are copying from isn't listed.
### Read the report and resend the stands
1. After **Update these hunts**, the sheet takes the title "Upcoming hunts". Read the total sentence, then the row for each drive.
2. If a row shows "Hunter to place again" or "Hunters to place again", place that hunter again on another stand.
3. If the report shows "The stands for these hunts had already been sent:", tap **Resend the stands** under the name of the hunt. The outcome appears under the button.
4. Tap **Close**.

## Good to know
### When the question comes up
- After saving a drive that already existed.
- After reactivating an archived drive, which may have been edited in the meantime.
- After **Copy back to "Black Wood"** from a hunt. The hunt you are copying from isn't listed: it is the one carrying the new version.
Nothing is asked when you create a drive, when you use **Save as a hunting ground drive**, when you archive, or when no hunt is affected: saving then happens quietly.
A hunt is affected if it uses the drive, if it is upcoming and if its copy differs from the new version. Upcoming means not yet started, not finished, not cancelled, with a date of today or later. Other hunts are never listed or modified.
### What the window shows
On the web, an "Update upcoming hunts?" window opens; on mobile, a sheet of the same name. It starts with a sentence like "This drive is used in 2 upcoming hunts: 12 Oct., 19 Oct."
Each hunt has its own block, with its title ("12 Oct. · Driven hunt · Drive 2 · Black Wood") and what would change:
- "Stand D removed: John Smith is placed on it"
- "Stand C renamed to 3", or "Stand C: name in the drive removed" if the new name is empty
- "Stand F added"
- "Stand order changed"
- "Drive name, instructions or map changed"
Shooting lines have their own sentences. A line is named by its colour, followed by its name in brackets when it differs from the colour:
- "Blue line (Low path) added": the hunting ground drive has a line that the hunt doesn't have.
- "Red line removed": the hunt has a line that the hunting ground drive no longer has, or never had.
- "Red line removed: it is held by John's group": same case, when a group holds this line in the hunt.
- "Blue line (Low path): renamed to Top, becomes green, route changed": only actual changes are mentioned. "Route changed" covers the route and the shooter spacing.
- "Line order changed": only the place of the lines changes.
If the app doesn't recognise any precise difference for a listed hunt, it writes "The drive has changed".
Two notes can appear in addition. "The stands have already been sent to the hunters of this hunt." says the stands email has gone out; it doesn't appear when the warning below replaces it. "You are not organising this hunt: it keeps its version." says this hunt is shown for information only and won't be touched.
### When shooters lose their stand
If the update removes shooters from their stand, a bold warning is added under the lines of the hunt concerned. It only appears for a hunt whose stands you are organising. A shooter placed on two removed stands of the same drive is counted only once.
- "1 shooter will lose their stand: they will need to be placed again." or, in the plural, "2 shooters will lose their stand: they will need to be placed again."
- If the stands email has already gone out: "1 shooter will lose their stand, having already received it by email: they will need to be placed again, then the stands resent." or "2 shooters will lose their stand, having already received it by email: they will need to be placed again, then the stands resent."
A total sentence is added before the **Update these hunts** button: "The update will remove 3 shooters from their stand." On the web, it closes the list of hunts. On mobile, it sits between the note under **Keep these hunts as they are** and **Update these hunts**. With no shooter removed, neither the warning nor the total appears.
### The two choices
**Keep these hunts as they are** is the default choice. It also applies if you close the window or sheet. Nothing changes in the hunts: "The hunts where you pick this drive later will have the new version."
**Update these hunts** only appears if you are organising the stands of at least one of the listed hunts: you are the hunt organiser, or you hold the **Assign stands** permission on the hunting ground. Each hunt whose stands you organise then takes on the new version of the drive.
During the update, the window doesn't close: an update in progress isn't cancelled.
### What an update replaces
For each hunt updated, the drive of the day takes back the hunting ground version:
- the stands of the drive, their names and order;
- the name, instructions and map of the drive. If the hunting ground drive has no map, a map specific to the hunt is kept;
- the shooting lines. Those coming from the hunting ground drive take back its route, colour, name and shooter spacing, keeping their group. Those drawn only for this day are deleted, along with those whose original line is no longer in the hunting ground drive. Lines added to the hunting ground drive are created in the hunt: they take the group of the same colour if the hunt has a free one, otherwise they stay without a group.
Watch out: anything adjusted for that day, like a stand name, is replaced. The impact list showed it to you before you decided.
The hunters on a removed stand go back to "to place".
### What the report says
The window takes the title "Upcoming hunts". A sentence gives the total ("2 hunts updated."), then each drive has its own row: "Updated.", the list of hunters to place again ("Hunter to place again: John Smith (Stand D · Ravine)."), or the reason it wasn't updated:
- "Already up to date."
- "Not updated: the hunt has started, has ended or has been cancelled."
- "Not updated: this drive is no longer used in it."
- "Not updated: the hunt was changed in the meantime. Save the drive again to review what changes."
If nothing could be updated: "No hunt was updated."
### Resending the stands
If the stands email had already gone out for an updated hunt, the report offers **Resend the stands**, a button per hunt. The email goes to all placed hunters of this hunt who have an email address, except those whose status is "Declined" or "Blocked". It contains their up-to-date stands. The hunters see the right stands in the app anyway: resending is there to replace the old email.
The button only appears if the stands email had been sent and at least one message had gone out. On the web, this send is done with **Send the stands**. On mobile, it is done with the button at the bottom of the "Summary" screen: **Notify the hunters** on the first send, then **Resend the stands to the hunters**.
The outcome appears near the button: "3 emails sent." or "3 emails sent, 1 failure."
### Editing a drive isn't editing a hunt
On the web, adjusting a stand name in the **2. Selection** tab only changes this hunt. On mobile, changing the **Name in the drive** of a stand from the **Drive stands** row of a drive of the day only changes this hunt.
For the change to carry over to future hunts, use **Copy back to "Black Wood"**: that is how a hunt sends its edits back to an existing hunting ground drive.
## Troubleshooting
- "The hunts were not updated." appears under the error message: nothing was written. Close the window, the hunts keep their version. To try again, save the drive again.
- "A sentence says shooters will lose their stand": the new version of the drive removes a stand where hunters are placed. Keep the hunts as they are to change nothing, or update them then place these hunters again on another stand. If the stands email had already gone out, resend it afterwards with **Resend the stands**.
- "The question does not come up": no upcoming hunt is affected, or the copy of those hunts is already identical.
- "The Update these hunts button is not there": you aren't organising the stands of any of the listed hunts. You need to be the hunt organiser or hold the **Assign stands** permission.
- "Reactivate the drive to update the hunts.": the drive was archived in the meantime. Reactivate it, then save it again.
- "It's saved, but the upcoming hunts using this drive could not be checked: they keep their version.": the app couldn't read the hunts affected. The drive is saved. Once the connection is back, save the drive again: the question is asked once more.
- "No hunter is placed on a stand: nothing to send.": no hunter is placed in this hunt, so no email went out.
- "No placed hunter has an email address.": no email went out. The hunters see their stands in the app.
- "No email sent (1 failure)." or "The stands could not be resent. Try again.": sending failed. The **Resend the stands** button stays visible: use it again.
