How do I register a licence issued outside France?

Last updated
A licence issued outside France is saved in the same record as a French licence. Choose the country that issued it and copy the dates printed on the document, or let the scan read them. ## On mobile ### Register a first licence 1. **Account** tab, then **Licences**. 2. Tap **Scan my licence**, then **Scan a document**. 3. Choose **Take a photo**, **Choose an image** or **Import a PDF**, then tap **Read the document**. 4. The "Summary" screen lists what was read, including the country, in the "Licence" block. If everything is correct, skip to step 6. 5. If the country or a field is wrong, tap **Edit** in the "Licence" block. The form opens: in the "Hunting licence" block, choose the **Country**. For a country other than France, the **Issuing authority**, **Season shown on the licence**, **Valid from**, **Valid until** and **Date of birth** fields appear. 6. Tap **Save my licence**. To enter everything yourself, tap **Enter manually** at step 2: the form opens directly. ### Correct an already-saved licence 1. **Account** tab, then **Licences**. 2. Tap the pencil at the top of the screen. 3. Choose the country in **Country** and fill in the foreign licence fields. 4. Tap **Save my licence**. ### Add the French validation 1. **Account** tab, then **Licences**. 2. Tap the pencil at the top of the screen. 3. In the "French validation" block, tap **Add a validation** to fill in the fields yourself, or **Scan my validation** to read it from a document. 4. Tap **Save my licence**. The validation joins the same record. ## On the web ### Register a first licence 1. Click your name at the bottom of the menu ("My account"), then **Licence & validation**. 2. Click **Scan my licence** and drop your PDF or image. 3. The result shows "Foreign licence". Click **Continue**. 4. The "Here is what we read" screen lists what was read. Click **Save** if everything is correct, **Edit** to correct, or **Complete** if a required field is missing. 5. If you clicked **Edit** or **Complete**, the form opens: choose the country in **Country**. The **Issuing authority**, **Season shown on the licence**, **Valid from**, **to** and **Date of birth** fields appear. Then click **Save**. To enter everything yourself, click **Enter manually** at step 2. ### Correct an already-saved licence 1. Click your name at the bottom of the menu, then **Licence & validation**. 2. Click **Edit** below the licence card. 3. Choose the country in **Country** and fill in the foreign licence fields. 4. Click **Save**. ### Add the French validation by scanning it 1. Click your name at the bottom of the menu, then **Licence & validation**. 2. On the licence card, in the "French validation" block, click **Scan my validation**. 3. Drop your PDF or image. 4. Click **Continue**. 5. On the screen that lists what was read, click **Save** if everything is correct. The validation joins the same record. ### Add the French validation manually 1. Click your name at the bottom of the menu, then **Licence & validation**. 2. Click **Edit** below the licence card. 3. In the "French validation (optional)" block, click **Add a validation**, then fill in the fields. 4. Click **Save**. The validation joins the same record. ## Good to know - The scan reads the country from the official text on the document, never from the language alone: French text can come from Belgium, Luxembourg or Switzerland. If it can't read it, the country remains to be chosen and saving requires it. - The dates are copied as printed. The scan doesn't calculate any, and they aren't required to save. - If the licence shows only its season (a Walloon licence, for example), the **Use the dates of the hunting year** button, followed by the season, fills in the two dates: from 1 July to 30 June for Belgium, from 1 April to 31 March for Luxembourg and Germany. It only appears for these three countries, when the season is written as 2026-2027. Nothing is filled in until you tap (on mobile) or click (on the web) this button. - Country, licence number and holder are required. The other foreign licence fields are optional. - The French validation is optional. As long as it is missing, the app shows: "To hunt in France, you also need a French validation of this licence, issued by a departmental hunting federation. You'll be able to add it here when you have it." Once the block is open, its starred fields are required, including the **Validation no.**. - A foreign licence within its validity period, with an insurance certificate number, shows "Licence complete". With its printed period ended, and without a French validation, it shows "Licence expired". - Mes Chasses copies what is printed: the app doesn't confirm whether you are allowed to hunt. Compare each field with the document before saving. ## Troubleshooting - "The country of my licence is empty or wrong": the scan didn't read it from the document. Choose it in **Country**. - "Choose the country that issued the licence": the country isn't filled in. Choose it, then save again. - "I cannot see the hunting year button": it only exists for Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, with a season written as 2026-2027. For another country, enter the printed dates. - "My licence shows No validation": it has no French validation, and its printed period is missing or hasn't started yet. Fill in **Valid from** and the end date, or add the French validation. - "The end date must be after the start": the two dates are the wrong way round. Correct them. ## See also - [How do I scan my hunting licence?](article:how-do-i-scan-my-hunting-licence) - [Who can see my hunting licence?](article:who-can-see-my-hunting-licence) - [How do I manage a member's licence?](article:how-do-i-manage-a-members-hunting-licence)
